Dr. Jennifer Lavallee
A fourth generation veterinarian, Dr. Lavallee graduated in 2005 from U.C. Davis with a B.S. in microbiology, and is a 2009 graduate of Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She was the recipient of the prestigious Daphne Award at Cornell, for exceptional clinical proficiency in small animal medicine. She is certified to practice nuclear medicine by the State of Colorado Department of Radiation Safety. She will sit for the ABVP feline specialty board exam in the fall of 2017.
Dr. Lavallee completed a rotating small animal internship at VCA Alameda East in Denver immediately after graduation from veterinary school. Since then, she has worked as a small animal practitioner, an emergency doctor, and in feline exclusive practice since 2012. Dr. Lavallee trained two years with world renowned feline veterinarian and textbook author, Dr. Gary Norsworthy in San Antonio, Texas. She regularly lectures to her veterinary colleagues at state and national conferences. She maintains an interest in research and has collaborated on several academic publications – including a groundbreaking paper about diagnosing the cause of chronic vomiting in cats. She is passionate about client education, and is a regular author of articles on cat health and disease for Cat Fancy Magazine. She owns a talkative FIV-positive black cat named Samson, who she adopted from the shelter.
