He has lectured at Cornell University, reviewed articles for Feline Practice Journal, and has contributed feline questions for the Veterinary National Board Exam.
Dr. Olson holds the title of Diplomate, Feline Specialty, from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. He is also certified to practice nuclear medicine by the State of Colorado Department of Radiation Safety.
Dr. Olson's special areas of interest are feline well care and client education. He emphasizes pain management and stress relief in the treatment of every sick or injured cat he sees. He is particularly adept at diagnosing the problem, and adheres to a strict protocol in arriving at a diagnosis which involves stabilizing and comforting the cat, then ruling out the most obvious and simple causes first. He has a special medical interest in feline geriatrics, as well as liver and kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, and feline hyperthyroidism.
